We open for the season in March and we want our guests to take full advantage of those spring months for a New Mexico Spring Break! Spring break often conjures up images of crowded beaches, long lines at theme parks and rowdy party people. We instead invite you to join us for a whole different kind of New Mexico spring break here at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch. You won’t find any of those obstacles standing in your way within the 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest that surrounds us. Unlike many other dude ranches, we open for the season in March and we want our guests to take full advantage of those spring months for some of the best riding in the West!
You’ll head out on horseback to explore a world awakening from winter with the cottonwoods and oak trees beginning to green up. The free range cattle in the area are welcoming calves into the world and they always seem to be ready for a photo opp. While relaxing during one of our picnic rides, you may even take the opportunity to dip your toes in! Our area is populated with warm springs and the warm crystal clear waters are quite soothing. Wildlife abounds, both on the trail and around the ranch. You may spy mule deer, elk, coyote, javelina or turkey. And of course, birds aplenty!
The weather is delightful, with March and April offering comfortable daytime highs in the 60’s and 70’s. Unlike many places in the country, the weather here at the ranch is typically dry with a very low chance of precipitation. Lots of sunny days and turquoise blue New Mexico skies!
