Spring makes me want to spend as much time outdoors as possible. So I’m mulling over two top-notch options this weekend.

1. I just might head to the March 14 open farm day at Windrush Alpaca Farm, in Clovis, where I could meet the soooo cute alpacas, learn about their personalities and the shearing process, and see their full winter coats before they’re shaved in April. The gift shop offers items made from yarn spun with their soft wool, and the farm has an adopt-a-paca program which lets you sponsor one of the furry creatures living there. Wanna come? Don’t forget your camera; alpacas love selfies.

2. March 14 is Pi Day. (Because 3.14 … get it?) To celebrate, you just might spy me Pi Day at Explora in Albuquerque, 1–4 p.m. As well as celebratory pi-themed activities, the staff plans a now-watch-this extravaganza when they’ll pour liquid nitrogen into the fountain at 1:59 p.m. (Because 3.14159. See? They make math fun.) Bonus: They’re serving actual pie.
