LOST IN THE SAUCE

When Albuquerque resident JILL MEYERS spotted an ad for Ayoh! sandwich sauces, she thought they looked amazing. She went to the company’s website to look for a New Mexico retailer—but there were none listed. So she wrote to ask if they might consider selling their products here. Their reply? “We do have hopes to launch internationally in the near future!”

BAD ALTITUDE

Santa Fe’s LYNNE CANTWELL recently watched an episode of HGTV’s Zillow Gone Wild featuring a house in Taos. “The top floor of the house is over 7,000 feet above sea level, and one of the owners told the show host that you can see all the way to Abiquiú,” Cantwell says. Onscreen, a caption confidently translated for viewers that “ABQ” is a local nickname for Albuquerque. “I did wonder if they’d ever heard of Georgia O’Keeffe?” she says.

CHAT, IS THIS REAL?!

During his national streaming tour in September, Florida-based YouTuber ISHOWSPEED filmed a series of his popular videos in Albuquerque.  In one clip, he comments on the local architecture while driving around the Duke City. “It gives like a Mexico [vibe], like the houses and stuff,” he says, pointing out the window to one vernacular home example: a Blake’s Lotaburger.

STATE OF CONFUSION

JOHN ROKOSZ hit a snag while scheduling a vaccination at the Albertsons in Silver City.  After carefully  entering his address into the  online form, an error message above the state field instructed: “Please enter a valid state name between 2-30 characters.” Apparently New Mexico is just a state of mind.
