IN JEOPARDY!
On a recent episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!, actor STEVEN WEBER buzzed in with “What is New Mexico?” to a clue asking in which country the state of Puebla is located. Macaulay Culkin then correctly answered “Mexico,” with host Ken Jennings affirming, “Old Mexico, yes.” Weber still got the last laugh, winning the game with a final clue about South Dakota.
BUMPY START
As if there aren’t enough TSA troubles, ANNETTE TORRES caused a line delay returning home to Albuquerque from Syracuse, New York. After handing over her driver’s license, an agent told her she needed a passport to travel internationally. “I politely said that New Mexico is part of the U.S.,” Torres says. “She didn’t believe me and had to get a supervisor to verify.”
OUR BAD
In April’s Destinations, we misidentified US 70 as I-70, which does not pass through New Mexico. Letters keep rolling in, including from JAMIE COLLINS of the Colorado Department of Transportation, stating that we “need to learn how to read a map.” Now Colorado knows how we feel.
