• 1 cups white rice, uncooked and rinsed
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 12-ounce can of evaporated milk
  • 2 canela (Mexican cinnamon) sticks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

Makes 6–8 cups

  1. Soak rice overnight (or 8–10 hours) with cinnamon sticks.
  2. Afterward, discard the cinnamon sticks and pour rice and water into a blender. Blend for three to five minutes or until fully incorporated.
  3. Strain mixture through a fine sieve, then add evaporated milk, vanilla, and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Pour over ice and garnish with cinnamon. ¡Disfruta!
