Just as choosing between red or green is a tough decision, we decided to go Christmas for our September/October issue, blending the two issues into one delectable combination!
Joking aside, 2020 has been a tough year for everyone, us included. Since 1923, New Mexico Magazine has been publishing monthly; but, in tough times, we tighten our belt by producing combined issues, allowing us to survive the Great Depression, World War II, and, now, the coronavirus pandemic.
However, we will be holding up our end of the bargain with subscribers: Every subscription will be extended by one issue to fulfill our 12-issue promise.
During the height of the pandemic, we offered our digital issue for free to the public, bringing the very best stories of New Mexican art, culture, food, nature and people to quarantined readers. In addition, we ramped up our digital efforts, providing a now-weekly newsletter highlighting five things to do over the weekend and special online-only web content. And we plan to do more.
Social distancing has separated us physically but brought us closer in online spaces. As you read the special issue, we'd love to hear (and see!) your favorite green chile facts, recipes, and memories on our Instagram (@newmexicomag); and scare us with your own ghost tales over on Facebook.
