I have a soft spot for both Vietnamese food and French crepes, but I never thought of them working together as fusion. Even the word is suspect to me. But Tapas Tree Grill, in Silver City, proved me wrong with its Vietnamese pork crepe, filled taut like a stuffed sopaipilla with Vietnamese pulled pork, pâté, pickled veggies, cilantro, cucumber, and sriracha mayo. The crepe was delicious. The pork was delicious. The veggies were delicious, too. More than that, each flavor and texture complemented the others.

With a variety of crepes, Thai bowls, sliders, and empanadas, the restaurant describes its cuisine as a “global street food adventure.” That’s a street I want to live on. Its affordable menu reaches many places all at once—Paris, Vietnam, Spain, Thailand, and the Southwest. It’s hard for me to imagine a better way to dine.
