Valentine’s Day can feel like a racket, but in 2020 when day-to-day life sometimes seems harder than ever, taking the time to celebrate the good things—like love— matters. You don’t have to dine out on a prix fixe menu or spend lots of cash on your one-and-only, but you can do little things to make your special one feel the love. And you can support your New Mexico community at the same time.

Valentine’s Day at Gruet
February 13–16
Add some fizz to a special date by sipping on a glass of bubbly during these ticketed events, which offer dessert or cheese pairings with your favorite locally produced sparkling wine. The Gruet Winery is in Albuquerque, with a tasting room in Santa Fe, but you’ll feel like you’re in the Champagne region of France, so you can pretend your flute holds a fantastic getaway.

FURever Yours, Humane Society Adoptions
February 14
Puppy love is adorable love, and animals six months or older are available for a special $14 adoption fee on Valentine’s Day at all Humane Society locations around the state. This is the perfect time to fill your heart and home with the love of a new fur baby who will love you like the rescuer you are.
