I come from a ranching and rodeo family, so boots have been part of my life forever.

We have over 400 pairs of boots. I think at least 250 of those are women’s. We have new and vintage Western wear, name brands, hats, boots, saddles.

We’re a destination store. We have repeat customers from France. But the two things I didn’t bank on when I opened were male customers and a local clientele, and we have both.

We only carry boots made in the United States or Mexico.

Customers pick what they like and their size range. Then we start trying them on, and there’s just a sound that goes swishhh when you put your foot in. That pretty well signals to me that the boot fits. But you need to walk around and tell me how it feels.

We probably have 15 pairs of custom-made boots. Someone can walk in, and they fit perfectly. It happens all the time, and it’s exciting.

If you’re going two-stepping, you need a really comfortable, well-fitting boot. To ride horses, it’s a whole different boot.

I’ve had a couple people come in who wanted a pair of cowboy boots because of Beyoncé, and we were able to make them happy.

I remember the Urban Cowboy moment. I was like, This isn’t a big deal. I’ve done this all my life. But it was a big deal. And it’s a big deal now.
