IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO, fall means the smell of roasting green chile—and finding it in just about everything. FARMesilla eatery + drinkery gets in on the action with its new Pistachio Pesto Pita Bread, a flatbread built on a punchy pistachio–green chile pesto. The Mesilla spot, recently taken over by Icebox Brewing Co. as its fifth Las Cruces–area location, piles the crisp pita with gooey Oaxacan cheese, salty salami, arugula, lightly pickled onion, and chopped green chile. Clusters of red grapes on the side offer a sweet, cooling counterpoint. Enjoy the open-faced snack with a handcrafted cocktail—I went with the Celery Serrano Garden Gimlet to keep the green chile kick going.
