Three times a week, the Civil War Walking Tour delves into the Battle of Glorieta Pass, one of the most consequential western battles of the Civil War. Free.

Albuquerque Museum. The Old Town Walking Tours inform guests about the people and buildings that shaped the early Albuquerque community. Included in the price of museum admission, the one-hour tour steps off three times a week through November 29. $6.

Santa Fe Discovery Walking Tours. Guides offer a variety of themed tours daily, including the Downtown History Tour, which departs from the concierge desk at La Fonda on the Plaza and covers 400 years of Santa Fe’s history. A Billy the Kid Downtown Walking Tour is also available on request. $30–$70.

Salmon Ruins. The San Juan County Museum Association provides tours for paleontology, archaeology, and ancient history in San Juan County, including tours of Bisti Badlands, Navajo defensive sites, Chaco Canyon, and sandstone arches and archaeology. Organized by the nonprofit, the full-day tours are tailored to the day’s attendees. $400–$600 per party (max of 6 people), call for individual pricing.
