SPOKES ON 66 CAR SHOW

Grants puts the pedal down on summer with the full-throttle Route 66 celebration June 5–6. “We are hoping to get 200 cars this year,” says event coordinator Jose Garcia. Spokes kicks off with a Friday night concert, followed by more music, arts vendors, food trucks, and an appearance by celebrity custom car builder Steve Darnell on Saturday.

Car lovers have three chances (June 20, July 18, and August 15) to spend a summer morning at the base of the Sandia Peak Tramway, in Albuquerque, to celebrate the Mother Road’s 100th birthday. Take a selfie with the specially decorated Route 66 tram car, enjoy brunch at Ten 3, or hit the trails when you’re done admiring the autos.
PRE-FIESTA CLASSIC CAR SHOW
August 21
Vintage rides, hot rods, and lowriders take over the Santa Fe Plaza on August 21 before the kickoff of Fiesta de Santa Fe. Expect sparkly paint jobs, hand-finished interiors, and drivers from families who have been cruising for generations.
