When pressed for his favorite cocktail on Teddy Roe’s menu, co-owner Arcy Law went with a classic. “It’s been voted the best old fashioned in the city several times now,” he says. “The whiskey is the star, and our job is to just show it off.”
- 2 ounces Nelson’s Green Brier Whiskey
- ¼ ounce simple syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Ice
- Orange or lemon peel and cocktail cherry, optional
Makes 1
Stir (don’t shake) all ingredients together, except garnish, in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into a glass with one large ice cube, and garnish with a peel and cherry.
