DON SIEGEL IS BUILDING bridges of cultural understanding at Chipeta Trading Company. The downtown Santa Fe gallery offers a hands-on learning experience focused on appreciating and respecting Indigenous art, especially Navajo and Pueblo jewelry dating between 1880 and 1940. Siegel creates a connection between the Indigenous artists who crafted these historic treasures and those who become “keepers of the people’s belongings.” In addition, Chipeta donates a significant portion of its profits to Native scholarships, social justice causes, and
nonprofit organizations. The gallery, located just off the Santa Fe Plaza, is open by appointment only.
