HOSPITALITY IS BOTH Joe Schepps’s calling and his legacy. He grew up in Dallas immersed in food, beverage, and guest experience, thanks to his family’s business, Schepps Brewery. After arriving in Santa Fe in 1971, Schepps transitioned from construction into hospitality development, creating landmarks like Inn on the Alameda, Hotel Santa Fe, and Sanbusco Market Center. From design and building to landscaping and guest interaction, he remains hands-on—most recently with Joe’s Tequila Bar—continuing a life’s work rooted in creating spaces of joy and escape.
