The Palace Restaurant and Saloon

Offers something for everyone in every mood

Owner Dave Bigby has given new life to Santa Fe’s beloved old saloon and one-time gambling hall, The Palace. There’s simply always something going on here, whether live music, karaoke, or a dining special. The elegant Old West-meets-Victoriana atmosphere is like nowhere else in the Capital City. The saloon features red-flocked wallpaper, a handsome length of bar to belly up to, and a wealth of beverage options, while the grand dining room has both cushy banquettes or see-and-be-seen tables under sparkling chandeliers. This time of year, the enclosed patio’s a great spot for a drink or a meal, too. The menu has some nice Italian touches, with seared duck breast and polenta, a crispy scaloppini, and a selection of pastas, but mostly it’s comfort food par excellence. Whether you want meatballs or meatloaf from naturally-raised beef, a cheesy enchilada, a classic Caesar, fish and chips, or a curry with local Talus Wind Ranch lamb, Chef Ryan Gabel and the kitchen have you covered. The Palace also serves up one of Santa Fe’s best burgers too, the green chile cheese smash burger, as well as a delicate and decadent lavender crème brulee. Yes, something for everyone, in every mood.
